Augsburg have announced the signing of Spurs youngster Cameron Carter-Vickers for a six-month loan deal.

The defender, who is just 19 years old, will be hoping to impress during his time at the Bundesliga club as they look to make progress in the Europa League this season.

Carter-Vickers has already made a name for himself in England after making over 200 appearances for Tottenham since joining from Arsenal as a teenager.

He was also part of the side that won the FA Youth Cup in 2017 and has been capped by England at under-18 level.

Augsburg manager Markus Gisdorff said: "We are delighted to welcome Cameron to FC Augsburg. He is a very promising young talent and we believe he can make a big impact here."

The loan move comes after Spurs' decision to not extend Carter-Vickers' contract earlier this year, despite him being offered new terms by the north London club.

The defender's departure was seen as a sign of the club's desire to focus more on younger players, with many of their top talents moving on to bigger clubs in recent years.

Carter-Vickers' arrival at Augsburg could provide a much-needed boost for the team, especially with the Europa League group stage set to begin next month.

The club's hopes of progressing through the competition will depend on how well Carter-Vickers performs, but it's clear that the young defender has the potential to make a significant impact in Germany.
