Bayer Leverkusen has announced the signing of Belgian midfielder, Jonathan David, from Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in a deal worth 48 million euros.
David, who is just 22 years old, was born in Belgium but moved to France at the age of six. He has played for several clubs in Europe, including Monaco and PSG, before joining Bayer Leverkusen on a four-year contract this summer.
The signing of David by Bayer Leverkusen comes after a successful season with PSG, where he scored 15 goals and provided eight assists in all competitions. His arrival at the Bundesliga club will be a boost to their midfield, which has struggled for consistency in recent seasons.
David's addition to the team will also bring some much-needed creativity to the squad. He is known for his technical ability and vision on the pitch, and he will add another dimension to the team's attacking play.
Bayer Leverkusen manager Julian Nagelsmann praised David's signing, saying that "He brings a lot of quality to our team, both technically and physically. We are looking forward to working with him and seeing what he can achieve."
With David now at the club, Bayer Leverkusen will look to build on their strong start to the season, which saw them win their first three games of the Bundesliga campaign. The signing of David could be a major turning point for the team, as they aim to challenge for a top-four finish and potentially more.
