Lens have ended their three-game losing streak with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Angers at the Stade de France on Sunday afternoon.
The win means that Lens have now won four out of their last five matches in all competitions, and they will be hoping to continue this run against other teams in the coming weeks.
Angers were unable to create any real chances during the first half of the match, but they did manage to find the back of the net in the second period when Openda Fofana scored a stunning goal from outside the box.
Despite being behind, Lens managed to equalize through a penalty kick from Adama Traoré just before halftime. However, Angers quickly regained the lead through a header from Romain Hamouma.
Lens then had a chance to take the lead themselves in the 78th minute when Adama Traoré was brought down by a defender, but his penalty kick was saved by the goalkeeper.
Despite this, Lens continued to press forward and created more opportunities, but they could not find the back of the net again.
Overall, it was a disappointing result for Angers, who have been struggling recently after winning only one of their previous six games. However, they will need to bounce back soon if they want to remain in contention for a top-four finish in Ligue 1 next season.
