The French side Nice have secured their place in the Europa League with a 2-1 victory over Brest on Saturday afternoon.
The match at the Stade Louis-II saw the visitors take an early lead through a goal from Florian Thauvin, but Brest fought back and levelled up before half-time.
However, Nice's dominance continued into the second-half as they scored twice more through Florian Thauvin and Jérémy Morel to secure all three points and move them into the group stages of the Europa League.
It was a much-needed win for Nice who were struggling in Ligue 1 and had lost four of their last five games. The victory also puts them two places above Brest in the table and ensures that they will be competing against some of the best teams in Europe next season.
"We're very happy," said manager Christophe Galtier after the game. "We knew it would be tough, especially against Brest, but we showed a lot of character and determination."
With the Europa League now out of the way, Nice can focus on securing a top-four finish in Ligue 1 and ensuring their spot in next season's Champions League.
"It's always difficult to leave the league because you want to keep your position," added Galtier. "But we've got to think about the future and we'll try to do our best."
